Tim de Paravicini has a long track record in High-End audio. He has worked with many leading lights of both the U.K. and International audio scene. Unlike most conventional hi-fi people, Tim also works in the recording industry as well, having designed an entire recording chain; valve capacitor microphone (The EAR), valve microphone preamp, valve compressor, valve record cutter, etc.
One of Audio Classics best selling products is the EAR 834P “Signature” phono
stage. Introduced over 15 years ago now (doesn’t time fly!) this super three
stage valve phono preamp still continues to amaze vinyl lovers from all
round the globe. It uses a set of Tim’s own brand “Yoshino” M.C. step up
devices, and 2x ECC83 / 12AX7 tubes in a small, neat enclosure. The sound is
rich and beautifully balanced, and what is even better, there are three models
to suit every budget:
“Classic” MM only phono stage. Same circuitry as more expensive models, but
lacking the “Yoshino” M.C. step up (this can be retro-fitted at a later date.
Price: £595 delivered (Normally £685).

“Signature” MM / MC. Builds on “Classic”, offering both Moving Coil & Moving Magnet compatibility. There is a no cost option for a high-quality ALPS “blue velvet” volume control. Price £825 delivered.
SPECIAL OFFER! “Signature” preamp, delivered for £699!

“De-Luxe” Same spec as above, but in luxurious casework. Volume control option, but it looks stunning. £1125 delivered.

EAR’s main amplification systems are based around three distinct genres. Solid state, surprisingly enough Tim’s top of the line amplifiers, the frighteningly expensive M100a power amplifiers and the frighteningly ugly 312 control unit

The valve line is clearly more in my favour, and my personal
favourites of Tim’s designs are the model featuring “Enhanced Triode Mode”
circuitry.
My personal favourites are the V20 push-pull 20 watt per channel amplifier, and
the EAR 869, single ended amplifier. Both are different sounding, the V20
cleaner and more accurate, the ‘869, softer, more “tube” sounding.

The V20 is a High End bargain, one of Tim de Paravicini's best designs Price £3925 delivered.
